Before I became an area manager, I was a shop manager at Bedok Mall and an assistant shop manager at Compass One before that. The reason why I had decided to run for area manager was because I wanted to challenge myself. If I never tried to step up further, I wouldn’t know how far I could go for. Honestly, I really couldn’t believe it when I was elected as an area manager back then. Of course, I was happy and also grateful to everyone who supported me.

I’m in charge of 9 outlets in the west side of Singapore and I’m responsible for sales and marketing as well as all aspects of shop operations. Also, I need to plan the monthly budget and manpower. As an area manager, good communication skills are very important and being able to listen to them is also a key aspect of an effective communication. By listening to the feedback from the shop managers and the staff, I’ll be able to better understand their needs and create a more conducive working environment for everyone.
