I came to know about OWNDAYS from friends who joined OWNDAYS before I did. They told me that OWNDAYS is a non-biased company. Every staff is given an equal chance to get promoted in the company. Those conversations with people who were actually working in OWNDAYS gave me an insider perspective into OWNDAYS and prompted me to join the company.

One of my responsibilities as a shop manager is to ensure the smooth operation of the store. I also need to ensure there is unity in the team so that we can move in the same direction as the company’s goals.

Being eye care professionals, it is important for us as opticians to treat customers like family members. In this way, we will be extra careful when conducting eye checks and helping them find the most suitable pairs of glasses. At the same time, customers would feel that we really do care for them.

The next challenge I want to take on is to further improve myself so as to get to the centre of the company, like going for the area manager election. To me, a rewarding aspect of the job is to see everyone grow as a team. My goal is to be at the core of the company so I can continue to provide motivation and support to the team. This would allow me to ensure that everyone is aligned with the company’s directions and achieve the goals together.
