Unique company culture

My first impression of OWNDAYS was that it’s a big optical company that has become widely known in Singapore within a short period of time. Not only that, OWNDAYS also takes care of the staff very well.

When I first joined the company, I found it quite challenging to adapt because the culture in OWNDAYS is very different from my previous company. However, I managed to adapt very quickly with the guidance from my colleagues who have been very helpful to me.

Besides, OWNDAYS has an election system which gives all the staff the chance to reach leadership roles. There is also the annual competition where we compete to assemble rimless glasses. You cannot find these interesting systems and features in other optical shops.

Acquire more skills and enlarge social network

As an Shop Manager, my job involves doing eye refraction tests and dispensing glasses to customers. I also do edging because we offer this special service which allows customers to collect their glasses in just 20 minutes. Because of this, I am able to learn the edging techniques which I can’t acquire in other optical shops. Of course, the most important part of my job is to give my customers the best and the most comfortable vision while providing good service. Also, OWNDAYS is a big company and I can know more people and expand my social network through working here.

Aim higher and explore the world

Ultimately, I would like to challenge myself to higher positions in OWNDAYS and to brush up my leadership skills. As OWNDAYS is now expanding around the world, I also wish that I can go for exchange programmes overseas.
